“The Seven Grandfather Teachings”
Drumming and Sewing Programs Wisdom – to cherish knowledge is to know wisdom. Love- to know love is to know peace. Respect – to honor all creation is to have respect. Bravery – is to face the foe with integrity. Honesty – in facing a situation is to be brave. Humility – is to know yourself as a sacred part of creation. Truth- is to know all of these things. (The Mishomis Book)
“It is our past that molds us as People” “We are guided through life by our beliefs” “By believing in ourselves, we are able to keep the culture strong” “Continuous effort is the key to unlocking our potential” (Black Elk, Native American) White Frost Sobriety Drum/Singers and Nimkii Mshoomis Drum/young boy singers have been the 2 drums attending and practicing and just having fun. The young boys drum is just starting out. It is so inspirational to hear those young voices singing their little hearts out. Participants learn how to properly use the sewing machines and sergers, receive instruction on cutting patterns, sewing skirts, shirts, pipe/drum bags and many more interesting projects. There is also beading for the young girls who attend. |
