Combined Family Court Worker Program

This program was designed to meet the needs of Native youth who come into contact with thee law and consults with native individuals in need of assistance dealing with family and Children’s Aid Society court matters.  Some services are explanation of charges, bail documents, probation orders; referrals; liaison; and assist with community involvement and discharge planning.

Work with parents or families in the case of a child apprehension by CAS, to ensure that all proper steps are taken to protect the child and if possible to reunite the family

 

¨ Courtworkers provide services in strict confidence to all Native peoples who require them.

¨ Courtworkers explain to the Applicant or the Defendant the procedures of Family Law court.

¨ Courtworkers work with families in the case of an apprehension by CAS, directly or indirectly to ensure that all steps are taken to reunite the family.
